Really?

They even call it snake oil!

WTF!

I've not shopped this picture, they're genuinely selling a skin nonsense product called snake oil, charging 40 quid for it & people are buying it.

ready this year

after finding myself stuck several times and crashing into a post in the snow this year i've invested in a set of winter tires & wheels. i've given the wheels a lick over with bouncers looking sweet wheel wax and the tires gtechniq t1. they're all nice in the house, i'm not sure how happy nicky is that they are :)

i plan on giving them another lick at some point then fitting them on friday while i'm off work, i could also do with getting a hair cut.

the tires are continental wintercontact ts 830p. i was torn between these and michelin pilot alpin. i've never had continental tires before so went for them.

jet washer 2.0

jimmy the jet wash died a few weeks back, wife's dad kindly lent me one until i got a new one. i've been trying to convince myself to get a decent one but they've always been that bit to expensive to say OK.

one of the interweb forums i read is www.detailingworld.co.uk its packed ram jam full of great advice on techniques, methods & kit. everyone raves about kranzle washers. so i did a boat load of reading about em & was settled on getting one when i had finally convinced myself to get a decent one.

while we were in welsh wales last week there was a post on said interweb forum about a group buy on a k7 or a k10 for an unturndownable price. and today, almost exactly a week to the day later he's arrived.

its the kranzle k10/122 or hd10/122 depending on who you ask. i also got a dirtblaster spinny pointy jetty lance for cleaning the flags & footpath

not had a chance to fire it up yet as it didn't arrive til after it had gone dark. but fear not, on satdi we wake at dawn to detail!

Man of steel

Just watched it, it's OK. In fact, better than OK, it's pretty good.

Seems to be lots of reboots & remakes about lately (that's probably because I'm getting older) this one is pretty darn good.

Good story, good special effects, what more do you want in a film?

Tomora we have Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter, which I'm quite excited about

Friday

Today we've been to the sea life place in Rhyl, weeman & I narrowly escaped being eaten by a shark. Then we went to Llandudno for a ride on the prom & pier and for an ice cream in the dark!
Fish & chips from the galleon in rhos on sea for tea then a quick trip to the penny machines at Towyn, tonight we won 2 motorbikes & a football.
Going home tomora for fireworks at mum & dad's.

Halloween

Spooky spooky spooky

They were having a halloween party at weemans nursery today & we're at the caravan, so we had our own :-)

Weeman insisted on getting a pumpkin when we were in lidl last week so we brought it with us & carved it this morning. He wanted a cat, so that's my best effort at a pumpkin cat!

Also wife painted my face, I'm pretty sure it is part of some sordid fantasy of hers, but seeing how hot I look who can blame her!

Really, any need?

Ignore the Mr Men DVD, this is all about the allergy advice.

This is printed on the label on a can of tuna.

Just in case you can't see the allergy advice, it says contains fish. On the side of a can of tuna there is a warning that the can of tuna contains fish.

what the actual fuck.

Happy days

I ordered a keyboard that doubles as a hard case for my Nexus, thanks Mr Allen, excellent recommendation :) we're in Wales this week so rather than come home to an annoying we called but you weren't in card I had it delivered to a collect plus place close to the caravan.
1st good work amazon your collet plus service is great, it's the second time I've used it and the second time I've been impressed with it.
2nd great work the two ladies in the booze buster in Abergele you were cheery, friendly & made me smile. I often moan about poor service, but hopefully this shows that I'm just as happy to dish out praise when I get good service.
3rd great work makers of anonymous bluetooth keyboard for sale on Amazon for 20 quid. It's a cracker, just what I needed.
Now onto the moan ;) you knew it was coming!
The keyboard is roughly the same size as a Nexus 10, and comes in a nice slim box. Amazon have decided to put it in a box that's roughly twice the size of the keyboard and about 4" deep. To stop the small keyboard in it's nice small box rattling about in the massive amazon box they've stuffed the box with about 25 feet of brown packing paper. Surely there must be a smaller box you could have put it in?
On the plus side at least I got my money's worth on the postage and packaging :)
3rd picture is weeman and I playing Afterburner Climax (no really, that's what it's called!)

Welsh haul

We've come to Wales this week for a quiet break. Weemans favourite penny machines (amusement arcades) have been closed both times we've been so we've been up to Towyn to some open ones. He's been playing on a game where you have to squirt ducks through doors with a jet of water & another where you have to punch ducks as they whizz past on a conveyor belt (the stabbing one)

While he was on the duck stabber I played a grabber one that promised a prize every time.  A prize every time is good enough for me so I chucked my quid in, boom! Not 1 prize but 6 :-) (weeman has gone to sleep with one of em) what a haul!

Another day

Blogging effort is back up to speed :-)

I've worked from home today, wife & weeman have been to Southport with myles & myles mum to watch room on the broom. Sometimes working from home is good & sometimes it's not so good.

Today was a good day, I'm a little behind on a project I'm working on so it's been good to "hide away" and crack on.

Before they went to the show they went to a playplace in birkdale, weeman & max bumped heads & weeman has got a right little lump on his heed :-)

Flickr getting on my tits

Flickr, you've become so bloated & grim looking recently and the speed of the site, well let's not even go there. I joined flickr late November in 2007 and now 6 years later I've finally decided that enough is enough!

I didn't mind paying for you when you weren't so slow, I didn't mind paying when you didn't have a tool bar that I have to install a script to hide, I didn't mind paying before you revamped yourself to be more social & I didn't mind paying when you made it hard to find my friends pictures. In fact each one in isolation isn't that bad, but when you bundle em all together it's made me snap!

It seems that 500px is the closest thing to flickr, so I've gone & gotten myself a login. There's nothing on it yet, it feels like it's more about quality rather than quantity, so it's going to take a few weeks to get anywhere close with it.  www.500px.com/mjtmail if you're interested
